Turkish MP: There's no judicial decision qualifying 1915 events as genocide

Joe Biden has fulfilled his promise made during the election campaign under the influence of the Armenian lobby. He used the phrase "the Meds Yeghern", which translates from Armenian as "great calamity," a deputy of the Grand National Assembly (Parliament) of Turkey, the head of the Turkish-Azerbaijani inter-parliamentary friendship group Shamil Ayrim told Report.

“There was no national or international judicial decision qualifying the events of 1915 as genocide,” Ayrim said.

According to him, although Biden's statement pleases Armenia and its supporters, they should also know that Turkey did not appear 106 years ago.

“I would like to remind you once again that the dreams of Armenia, which does not recognize the borders of Turkey and makes territorial claims, are unrealizable. I believe that the statement of the US President has no legal basis,” he added.

“Those who do not recognize the genocide committed in Khojaly in 1992, turn a blind eye to the 30-year occupation of Azerbaijani lands and try to rewrite history, distorting the historical truth, will be held accountable for this,” Shamil Ayrim noted.
