“Evaluating the issue separately from the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Azerbaijan, it is not correct to pretend that there is a humanitarian crisis in the area. These steps slow down the peace process,” Turkish Ambassador to Azerbaijan Cahit Bagci told journalists during a visit to the Aghdam-Khankandi road together with representatives of the diplomatic corps and military attachés accredited in Azerbaijan, Report informs.
According to him, it is important to consider the events taking place in Azerbaijan as part of the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Azerbaijan: “After the Karabakh victory, there is only one expression: Karabakh is Azerbaijan! This is the position of Türkiye. It is important to recognize the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Azerbaijan. There is a peace process that has been going on for three years. In this regard, meetings were held in Washington, Brussels, and Moscow. Türkiye supports the peace process and is trying to normalize relations with Armenia. We are taking steps towards this normalization to contribute to peace.”
The Turkish diplomat said that attempts to create a humanitarian crisis in the peace process that has been going on for three years will not contribute to peace but will slow down the process: “If the issue is food supply, Azerbaijan has a solution in this regard. Aghdam-Khankandi road can be used. Azerbaijan meets all needs. Today, the Azerbaijan Red Crescent Society brought flour to the Armenians, and this flour should be accepted, but the negotiations are still ongoing. We do not accept that Azerbaijan's efforts in this direction are ignored.
