In order to expand the regulatory framework of relations with Turkiye, the work has been completed on a "Memorandum of Understanding between the Intellectual Property Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office (Turkpatent) on the protection of industrial property," Report informs, quoting the report of the Intellectual Property Agency on the activities done in 2021.
The parties are expected to sign this document.
The purpose of the Memorandum of Understanding is to create a common framework for bilateral cooperation between the parties, to develop the management and increase the efficiency of the intellectual property systems of the countries, along with the exchange of knowledge and best practices.
The parties shall exchange information on national legislation and practices in the field of intellectual property and develop specific cooperation activities for this purpose, ensure the registration and effective protection of each other's intellectual property rights, and ensure effective protection of industrial property at the regional and international levels and to develop opportunities for joint cooperation with international organizations, form a joint approach to international projects in international projects they are involved, exchange information and experience, and organize joint activities for these purposes.
