TRNC-Azerbaijan cooperation grows stronger, says Ersin Tatar

"Our friendly and brotherly relations with Azerbaijan, our joint cooperation have recently become even stronger," the President of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) Ersin Tatar said in an interview with Report on the sidelines of the 79th session of the UN General Assembly in New York.

The head of state emphasized the need for unity among Turkic peoples and noted that he has very sincere relations with the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev.

"President Ilham Aliyev has invited me to Baku twice. Our strong friendly and brotherly relations with Azerbaijan, our joint cooperation have recently become even stronger, and this makes me very happy. I highly value these relations," said Ersin Tatar.

He also stated the "need for a strong Turkic world," noting that President Ilham Aliyev "always emphasizes this during meetings with him."

"I fully agree with President Ilham Aliyev's opinion that if the Turkic world, Turkic unity is strong, then we can be strong. As a result of the joint efforts of both leaders - Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev - the Turkic world, in the true sense of the word, has become stronger. In conversations with both presidents, I say that we are one nation, three states. We support each other for a more beautiful and brighter future of our people. The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus is in a very critical region where resources are limited, and there is some confusion in security issues," stated the TRNC leader.
