Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has proposed discussing the integration of the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP) into the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR), also known as the Middle Corridor, within the C5+1 cooperation format.
According to Report's correspondent in Turkmenistan, Tokayev made the remarks at the 8th Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asian Countries and Azerbaijan in Avaza.
"I believe that the integration of the Zangazur Corridor transport initiative into the Middle Corridor could initially be discussed at the expert level. This would expand the existing potential of the TITR and serve the long-term interests of all our states," Tokayev said.
The Kazakh president emphasized that Kazakhstan attaches particular importance to developing the Trans-Caspian route, noting that its growing demand has been clearly demonstrated by developments in recent years.
Tokayev also said that, according to World Bank estimates, if all planned infrastructure projects are implemented, cargo traffic through the Caspian Sea could quadruple by 2040.
