A panel session "Peace-Positive Climate Action through Urban Solutions in Fragile and Conflict-Affected Settings" has kicked off at the World Urban Forum (WUF13) in Baku, Report informs.
The discussion focused on the presentation of a solution package, tentatively designated Smart, Sustainable Settlements for Safe Return Package (4SRP).
The initiative aims to promote integrated approaches to urban recovery that combine climate resilience, security, and support for peaceful development in regions affected by conflict and climate change.
The session plans to discuss this solution package at WUF13 and raise awareness of integrated models for urban recovery in the face of climate and conflict challenges.
In addition, initial feedback from stakeholders is expected to further refine the initiative and an agreement to continue consultations on the development of the proposed solutions.
