Shusha may join international movement 'Mayors for Peace'

The special representative of the President of Azerbaijan in the Shusha district, Aydin Karimov, participated in the event held in that city on the occasion of the 78th anniversary of the nuclear bombing of the Japanese city of Hiroshima.

Report informs that the special representative was accompanied by the ambassador of Azerbaijan to Japan, Gursel Ismayilzada.

Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida and officials from various countries took part in the event held at the Peace Memorial Park.

Before the event, a meeting was held between Mayor Kazumi Matsui and special representative Aydin Karimov, and information about the city of Shusha was presented.

At the same time, Aydin Karimov and Kazumi Matsui exchanged views on Shusha's intention to join the "Mayors for Peace" movement.

At the end of the meeting, Kazumi Matsui was presented with souvenirs related to the city of Shusha.
