Turkmenistan, like fraternal Azerbaijan, is actively involved in the development of international transport routes in the region, Director of the Center for Strategic Studies under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Shiri Shiriyev said at the opening of the event "Multifaceted cooperation between Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan: achievements and prospects" in Baku.
Report quotes him as sayingt Azerbaijan makes a significant contribution to the development of the Trans-Caspian transport route, as well as the North-South and East-West corridors.
"Turkmenistan strives to become a logistics hub connecting Europe and Asia, thereby expanding economic and political ties," he said.
Shiriyev emphasized that Turkmenistan adheres to a strategic approach in which neutrality becomes the basis for the development of regional projects.
"Ashgabat remains committed to political neutrality in the context of global changes. Neutral states can play an important role in overcoming the consequences of global division. They are able to establish dialogue where direct cooperation is difficult. In this sense, neutrality becomes not only a political concept, but also a factor of economic stability," he concluded.
