The delimitation of the Azerbaijani-Armenian border is an indispensable condition for peace in the South Caucasus, Russian political scientist, journalist and public figure Maxim Shevchenko told the Russian bureau of Report.
“We must move in this direction,” he added, calling on Baku and Yerevan to resume interstate relations as soon as possible.
At the same time, the vast majority in Armenian society is against the war and wants peace with Turkiye and Azerbaijan, the expert said: “We see the position of the president of Armenia, who recently said that it is necessary to delimit the border as soon as possible. It is clear that Pashinyan, as a person nominated by a political party and the parliamentary majority is forced to maneuver. We see that not the position of the Armenian diasporas in Russia, the US and France, but the will of the Armenian people is manifested in the desire to live peacefully with Azerbaijan and Turkiye. The people of Armenia do not want war. They do not want to die for the interests of the oligarchs.”
