Shalva Papuashvili: Georgia-Azerbaijan relations successfully developing

Relations between Georgia and Azerbaijan are successfully developing on the basis of friendship and long-term cooperation, according to Shalva Papuashvili, Speaker of Georgian parliament, Report informs.

He made the remark during a meeting with Azerbaijan's Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov in Tbilisi.

Papuashvili declared that Georgia's friendship with Azerbaijan is long-term and successful.

The parties especially emphasized mutual support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of their countries.

Bilateral and multilateral cooperation issues were discussed at the meeting. The sides also discussed the increasing geopolitical and geoeconomic importance of the Middle Corridor connecting Central Asia with Europe, as well as the broad potential of strategic transport and energy projects.

The meeting also touched upon processes in the South Caucasus and the wider region.

Peace talks between Azerbaijan and Armenia were discussed, and the importance of regional stability and sustainable peace was emphasized.
