"Freedom of expression - one of the fundamental rights of the Council of Europe is being used to spread one-sided information," the head of the Azerbaijani delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), MP Samad Seyidov, said at the organization's summer session.
According to him, the report on the activities of the Bureau should include the most significant events that have taken place since the last session of the PACE:
"However, there is no information about the agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia on June 12. As a result of this agreement, a map of minefields in the Aghdam region was presented to Azerbaijan by Armenia, and some Armenian captives were released in return. However, on the contrary, unverified, false information is given about the ill-treatment of prisoners of war. That is, we come across one-sided information. Freedom of speech, one of our fundamental rights, should not be used to spread one-sided and unverified news. The issues must be studied in detail. Reconciliation must be sought between the two countries."
