Sahiba Gafarova: Armenia must fulfill its obligations

Chairman of the Milli Majlis (Parliament) of Azerbaijan Sahiba Gafarova has met with Deputy Prime Minister of Latvia, Minister of Defense Artis Pabriks, who is in Azerbaijan on a visit, Report informs.

Sahiba Gafarova expressed confidence that the meetings and discussions held during the visit will contribute to the development of bilateral relations.

The speaker called Azerbaijan and Latvia friendly countries, noting the exceptional role of high-level visits and meetings in the bilateral relations.

Speaking about the victory of Azerbaijan in the 44-day Patriotic War, Sahiba Gafarova noted that today the conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan no longer exists, and a new reality has developed in the region.

"Armenia must fulfill its obligations and take practical steps in this direction," she said.

Artis Pabriks stressed that Azerbaijan is a friendly country for Latvia. He expressed his country's interest in further development of relations with Azerbaijan in various directions. The minister noted the unique role of parliaments in the Latvian-Azerbaijani relations.

The parties also discussed other issues of mutual interest.
