Russian political analyst: Putin's visit to Azerbaijan is a warning for the Armenian leadership

Baku. 28 September. REPORT.AZ/ The visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to Azerbaijan is a kind of a warning to the Armenian leadership, Russian expert and political analyst, General Director of the Institute of Political Studies of Russia Sergey Markov told Report.

According to him, the talks between the Presidents of Azerbaijan and Russia, Ilham Aliyev and Russia Vladimir Putin were held in a very positive, cordial atmosphere, the heads of the two countries have developed excellent personal relations.

"In my opinion, one of the important goals of Vladimir Putin's visit is to Azerbaijan is to send a signal to the new leadership of Armenia that its policy is in the wrong way. If Nikol Pashinyan continues to arrest members of the CSTO (Collective Security Treaty Organization) and to take some wrong steps, it can seriously complicate not only the situation of the Armenian leadership, but also Armenia itself as a country," Markov said.

On September 27, Russian President Vladimir Putin paid a working visit to Azerbaijan.
