Russian Orthodox Church ready to promote dialogue between Armenian, Azerbaijani spiritual leaders

The Russian Orthodox Church is ready to continue efforts to establish a dialogue between the religious leaders of Armenia and Azerbaijan, said Metropolitan Anthony (Sevryuk) of Volokolamsk, Chairman of the Department for External Church Relations of the Moscow Patriarchate, Report informs referring to Russian media.

“We met with Chairman of the Caucasus Muslims Office Allahshukur Pashazade. We also talked about what we could do together, taking into account my appointment as chairman of the department. I stressed that the Russian Orthodox Church is ready to continue to participate in establishing a dialogue between the parties to the conflict and, together with the religious leaders of Azerbaijan and Armenia, make efforts to ensure that the situation returns to a peaceful course,” the Metropolitan said.
