Russian FM: 2018 was a very positive year for relations between Moscow and Baku

Baku. 16 January. REPORT.AZ/ "Russian-Azerbaijani relations are developing quite steadily and sustainably," Russian foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov at a press conference on the results of the last year.

"Regular meetings held at the level of presidents last year were quite meaningful, I met my counterpart Elmar Mammadyarov in Baku and Moscow," Lavrov said.

He also reminded that last year Baku hosted another humanitarian forum under the joint patronage of the presidents of Russia and Azerbaijan - Vladimir Putin and Ilham Aliyev

"Very many formal, official and informal events, which connect us," he said.

According to him, the results of the year are "very" positive for Russian-Azerbaijani relations

"We cooperated well within the CIS, UN and OSCE structures. By the way, in the Council of Europe too, where there is quite a biased approach to Azerbaijan and they try to discriminate Azerbaijani parliamentarians in PACE," Lavrov said.
