Russian expert: Russia-Azerbaijan relations reached level of allied ones

Relations between Russia and Azerbaijan are strengthening, rising to the level of allied relations, political expert Yevgeny Mikhailov told the Russian bureau of Report.

The political scientist believes that the topics of discussion between the leaders of Azerbaijan and Russia will include some transport logistics corridors: "What interests our countries is, first of all, the opening of the Zangazur corridor, the North-South corridor, and other logistics facilities. Russia and Azerbaijan currently have many joint contracts in the oil and gas sector and the development of the agro-industrial complex, in which your country has extensive experience. In addition, defense initiatives will be discussed, and the development, possibly, of security systems in the South Caucasus."

He also noted that the presidents will most likely discuss Armenia's course towards the West and, as a result, issues of general security in the region.
