Russia delivers 50 test systems to Azerbaijan for diagnosis of COVID-19

The Russian Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing (Rospotrebnadzor), has handed over an additional 50 sets of test systems to the Health Ministry of Azerbaijan to conduct 5,000 tests on COVID-19, Report informs citing the Russian Embassy in Azerbaijan.

"Thus, since the beginning of March, the Russian side has donated 120 sets of test systems based on 12 thousand studies for laboratory diagnostics of COVID-19 in Azerbaijan.

We intend to continue to make joint efforts to maintain the health and well-being of the population of our countries, coordinate actions to overcome the coronavirus pandemic and its consequences in the region, " the Russian Embassy said.

Earlier, Russia handed over 70 sets of test systems to Azerbaijan for the diagnosis of coronavirus.

On December 31, 2019, Chinese authorities announced an outbreak of pneumonia in the city of Wuhan. The causative agent of the disease is a new type of coronavirus, which has the official name COVID-2019.

The World Health Organization (WHO) declared a pandemic of a new type of coronavirus in the world.
