Rusif Huseynov: Cooperation with Uzbekistan presents vast opportunities for Azerbaijan

Developing cooperation and ties with Uzbekistan, a country with immense potential in the Central Asian region, will open up a plethora of opportunities for Azerbaijan, according to Rusif Huseynov, co-founder and director of the Baku-based Topchubashov Center think tank.

According to Report, speaking at the event "Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan: New Perspectives for Mutually Beneficial Cooperation" in Baku, Huseynov emphasized that Azerbaijan is currently placing special focus on developing relations with Turkic states. "Azerbaijan seeks to position itself not only as a Caspian or Caucasian state but also as a bridge to Central Asia. This sends a clear signal to Western powers," he stated.

Huseynov noted that it is crucial for Azerbaijan to build strong bilateral relations with brotherly nations. "In this context, the reciprocal visits of the presidents of Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan serve to strengthen the alliance," he added.

The event "Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan: New Perspectives for Mutually Beneficial Cooperation" was jointly organized by the Azerbaijan Center of Analysis of International Relations (AIR Center) and the Institute for Strategic and Interregional Studies under the President of Uzbekistan.
