The unblocking of the transport infrastructure and the creation of new routes will contribute to the development of the Armenian economy, Russian President Vladimir Putin said during a meeting with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan in Sochi.
"Let me recall how an agreement was reached during the cessation of the armed conflict. Then we all proceeded from the fact that the most important thing is to ensure peace and create conditions for development, including for the development of the Armenian economy, because the unblocking of the transport infrastructure and the creation of new routes - all these issues are associated with the development of the economy, the social sphere. Ultimately, this is what we are working for in the interests of people," Putin said.
He noted the need to normalize relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia.
"I know that you have the political will to do so, and we support it in every possible way. We must work with you now, and then in a trilateral format, to find the key points that will allow us to move forward," the Russian president said.
