Putin: BRICS Plus participants to consider most pressing issues for global community

Participants of the first plenary session of the 16th BRICS summit in the outreach/BRICS+ format will discuss issues of greatest concern to the global community, Russian President Vladimir Putin said while opening the meeting as the host of the summit, Report's correspondent from Kazan informs.

He noted that this expanded format "has proven itself well."

"Here at our common table, we have representatives from countries of Europe, Asia, Africa, and Latin America. According to the proposed agenda, we will discuss issues of greatest concern to the global community, including sustainable development, climate change adaptation, technology and knowledge exchange, and the fight against terrorism and transnational crime," Putin said.

The Russian leader emphasized that special attention will be paid to conflict resolution issues, particularly the situation in the Middle East.
