Prosecutors general of Azerbaijan, Croatia ink memo

Azerbaijani Prosecutor General Kamran Aliyev met with Croatian Prosecutor General Ivan Turudic, who participated in the 29th Annual Conference of the International Association of Prosecutors (IAP) in Baku, Report informs.

According to the prosecutor’s office, Aliyev emphasized that the existing strategic partnership and strong cooperation between the two countries provide a platform for further development of political, economic, and cultural ties, and provided detailed information about the measures taken to combat crime in Azerbaijan.

Highlighting the historical significance of holding COP29 in Azerbaijan, Prosecutor General Kamran Aliyev noted that during the event, the Prosecutor General's Office of Azerbaijan, together with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime - UNODC, will organize a high-level plenary session titled "Mobilizing Law Enforcement for Enhanced Climate Action" on November 15, and presented invitation letters to the guests.

The Croatian prosecutor general expressed gratitude for the warm reception and congratulated Kamran Aliyev on the occasion of October 1 - the professional holiday of Azerbaijani prosecutors and the 106th anniversary of the establishment of the prosecutor's office. He expressed confidence that friendly relations will continue to develop successfully in all directions and highly appreciated the existing ties between the prosecutor's offices of the two countries.

The parties exchanged views on the prospects for expanding legal and institutional cooperation between the prosecutor's offices within the framework of bilateral and international platforms.

Subsequently, a Memorandum of Understanding on developing cooperation was signed to strengthen legal cooperation between the countries and further intensify existing relations in the future.
