The program of Latvian President Egils Levits' visit to Azerbaijan has been made public.
According to the press service of the President of Latvia, on March 8-9, President Egils Levits will pay an official visit to Azerbaijan, where he will meet with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and take part in the opening of the 10th Baku Global Forum.
"Latvia and Azerbaijan have been linked by strong bilateral relations for almost 30 years. The visit, which will take place at the invitation of the President of Azerbaijan and the organizers of the Baku Global Forum, will provide the two countries with an opportunity to discuss current challenges to regional security, as well as opportunities for cooperation in the energy sector, taking into account the overall progress in the field of renewable energy sources," the press service of Egils Levits noted.
During the visit, the President of Latvia will also visit ADA University, hold meetings with businessmen, visit exhibitions of artists Krumina and Deghati, and also take part in the unveiling of a memorial plaque dedicated to Jāzeps Mediņš.
