A new Marshall Plan is being drafted for Armenia, Hikmat Hajiyev, Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan and Head of the Foreign Policy Affairs Department, told journalists, Report informs.
Hajiyev said that during the occupation, Armenia caused mass destruction in the territories of Azerbaijan, including falsification of private and state properties: “Now the Government of Azerbaijan is allocating funds for restoration and reconstruction works, as well as demining the territories. Armenia is the one causing the destruction, and Azerbaijan is facing it [the destruction]. However, the funds are allocated to Armenia. This is a paradox.”
According to the presidential aide, approaches to Azerbaijan and Armenia are not equal: “Even during the occupation, no one called Armenia to end the occupation. Such double approaches regarding the region continue.”
