President: We are grateful to Non-Aligned Movement for supporting our territorial integrity

Baku. 5 April. REPORT.AZ/ "Over half a century, Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) promotes principles of humanism, bases its work on the principle of the territorial integrity of all countries."

Report informs, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev said at today's Non-Aligned Movement Mid-Term Ministerial Conference in Baku.

The head of state noted that the support of the Non-Aligned Movement and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) was very important for Azerbaijan when elected to non-permanent members of the UN Security Council.

"Together we can achieve a lot," the President said.

He reminded that Azerbaijan was subjected to aggression and for more than 25 years Armenia keeps under occupation the territories of Azerbaijan, over a million people became refugees and internally displaced persons (IDPs).

"Armenians committed genocide in Khojaly against Azerbaijanis. Today, we intend to address our questions to the members of the Movement, so that they express their position on this genocide”.

President stressed that despite the resolutions adopted by the international organizations, territories of Azerbaijan are still under occupation.

"We are grateful to the Non-Aligned Movement for their support and recognition of the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan”, the President said.
