"Part of your life will be connected with our country. I hope that you will not only be active as an ambassador in promoting the issues you are talking about now, but will also have the opportunity to see your surroundings and get to know Azerbaijan better so that you can have good memories when you return to Brussels or anywhere else," President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev said while accepting the credentials of the newly appointed head of the EU Delegation to Azerbaijan Peter Michalko on October 6, Report informs.
"As you mentioned, our cooperation, our long-term cooperation, has an extensive agenda. It is very effective and successful cooperation. The areas you mentioned are, in fact, priority areas for our cooperation, and we discussed these issues extensively during President Charles Michel's visit this summer. Our views on bilateral relations, regional development, and the post-war situation completely coincide. We trust the European Union as our great partner and honest mediator in mobilizing efforts and contributing to the post-war situation. Our traditional areas of cooperation are well known, and we have made great strides. Ten years ago, the European Union and Azerbaijan signed a Declaration on energy cooperation and energy security in this building. It was a significant step towards the implementation of the Southern Gas Corridor. After that, practical steps have been taken, and since the last day of last year, we already see positive results. Azerbaijani gas is already in the European market," the head of state said.
