President: Georgia mainly depends on Azerbaijan in gas and oil supplies

"Georgia's energy dependence on Russia is quite low, because we depend mainly on Azerbaijan in terms of gas and oil, and Turkey in terms of electricity," Georgian President Salome Zourabichvili said in an interview with the French Paris Match magazine, Report informs.

According to Zourabichvili, Georgia has the ability to resist Russia.

"However, Russia is a border state, and it has very important military bases in the south, large bases in the occupied territories (of Georgia), as well as in Armenia. We are surrounded, but Georgia has the ability to show some resistance, because we have been in this strategic region for 26 centuries. We have been conquered by virtually all existing empires. Russia occupied Georgia four times in past two centuries," the president said.
