President Bajram Begaj: Albania seeks closer cooperation with Azerbaijan

Albania seeks closer cooperation with Azerbaijan, Albanian President Bajram Begaj said at a joint press conference following a meeting with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev in Tirana, according to Report.

According to him, Albania is interested in deepening cooperation with Azerbaijan in areas such as energy and infrastructure, tourism, agriculture, etc.

Bajram Begaj called Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev's Tirana visit historical in terms of relations between the two countries.

"I gave the best assessments to our political dialogue and cooperation. And I am convinced that this visit will give a strong impetus to cooperation in the future in areas of mutual interest," the President of Albania said.

"Our discussions today were focused on the need to identify areas of common interest and specific ways to deepen cooperation. We talked about the need for a joint economic commission in 2023, as the best political and technical tool to determine specific milestones of cooperation and programmatic continuity for the coming years," Begaj said.
