Political scientist: French legislators adopted resolution pursuing their own goals

Voting for the anti-Azerbaijani resolution in the French Senate, the legislators did not take into account the objective truth, but their own interests, paid for by the Armenian lobby of this country, Political scientist Rovshan Ibrahimov told Report, commenting on the resolution of the French Senate against Azerbaijan.

The Armenian population of France successfully lobbies its interests at the legislative level, he noted. “The French Senate, adopting this resolution, pursued the interests of the Armenian lobby, which pays for their existence,” Ibrahimov said.

The political scientist noted that the truth in this case is unimportant, what matters is what and who you work for.

“Also, this resolution was a message to Azerbaijan: in case something happens, we can use different tools,” he added.

Ibrahimov stressed that the adoption of such an anti-Azerbaijani decision negates the possibility of France to act as a mediator in relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia, which it aspires to.

Indeed, in the near future Macron will again look for ways to alleviate the situation in order to regain this role, Ibrahimov added.
