Political scientist: Azerbaijani president’s visit to Tajikistan opening new page of co-op

The visit of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev to Tajikistan is opening a new page in bilateral relations, Tajik political scientist, chairman of the National Fund “Silk Road - Way of Consolidation” Abdugani Mamadazimov told Report.

He said that today Azerbaijan is not only a regional leader in the South Caucasus, but also one of the active participants in the global Non-Aligned Movement.

“Azerbaijan is also a reliable supplier of hydrocarbons not only for the European Union, but also for neighboring regions that are in dire need of them,” he added.

According to the political scientist, with these balanced actions, Azerbaijan is making a significant contribution to maintaining stability in “turbulent Eurasia,” preventing it from sliding into another “cold war.”

Abdugani Mamadazimov stressed that the maintenance and gradual deepening of multifaceted cooperation with the rapidly developing Azerbaijan meets the national interests of Tajikistan.

On April 6, the state visit of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev to Tajikistan ended. During the visit, 14 documents were signed between the countries.
