The petition of Azerbaijanis in response to the pro-Armenian draft resolution of the French Senate entered the top five most resonant on foreign topics posted on the Mesopinions petition website, Report informs.
In less than a month, the number of people who signed the petition exceeded 104,000.
In October, a group of Azerbaijanis wrote an appeal to the French Senate and people, posting it on the Mesopinions website. The petition is the reaction of Azerbaijanis to the Senate's draft resolution, the vote on which is scheduled for November 15.
The compilers of the petition noted that the draft resolution represents an absolutely one-sided and biased vision of the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict, and its authors defend the interests of only the Armenian side:
“Try to notice and understand the years of pain, feelings of loss and aspirations not only of one of the parties to the conflict. Azerbaijanis have no fewer rights. They deserve no less understanding and compassion. Only in this way can France make an optimal contribution to achieving the long-awaited peace between these two peoples,” they said.
Although the French media decided not to talk about the petition, it was covered by the media of Turkiye, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Ukraine, Poland and Israel.
