People's Union for Liberation of Guadeloupe condemns human rights violations by France

The People's Union for the Liberation of Guadeloupe (UPLG) has strongly condemned France's human rights violations and called upon the international community to take notice of the ongoing oppression in the French-controlled territory.

According to Report, in a statement released in Baku, the UPLG denounced the arrest and detention of its General Secretary, Jean-Jacques Bisep, at Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport upon his return from the UN headquarters in Geneva.

The meeting at the UN focused on discussing cases of human rights violations in territories controlled by France.

This incident follows a previous attempt by the General Secretary to visit the UN headquarters in the United States, which was thwarted due to an entry ban imposed on him after passing through Martinique.

"The UPLG condemns these practices that violate human rights and vows to continue informing the international community about the situation in Guadeloupe," the organization said.

It also demanded the recognition of its right to self-determination and national independence.

The UPLG also calls upon the people of Guadeloupe and all patriotic and anti-colonial forces to condemn actions aimed at suppressing the voices of those who defend the rights to full sovereignty and independence. The statement concludes with a powerful message: "Long live a free and independent Guadeloupe! We shall win!"
