They emphasized the importance of such meetings for the development of dialogue between the scientific community and educational institutions, as well as for the exchange of knowledge and practical experience.
Member of the UN Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues, representative of Colombia Pastor Martinez noted that the conference covered key issues of the modern global order. Among them are multiculturalism, climate change, the impact of globalization on youth, as well as the causes and mechanisms of racism.
According to Pastor, collective efforts of the international community are needed to effectively respond to these challenges and promote the principles of justice and equality. Professor of the University of Algiers-2, researcher Chakib Benhafri, in turn, emphasized the growing role of knowledge of several languages in the modern world.
"My main goal in visiting the Azerbaijan University of Languages is to sign an agreement with the rector on the establishment of the Azerbaijani Language Center at the Algiers-2 University. In 2013, I initiated the opening of the Turkish Language Center, and I understand the importance of such initiatives. Yes, there is a long distance between Africa and Azerbaijan, but such centers contribute to our rapprochement," he said.
Hichem Daoud, a research fellow at the Faculty of Political Science at the Algiers-3 University, noted the growing role of Azerbaijan in global politics and emphasized the importance of the country's efforts in the international arena.
"Azerbaijan is confidently strengthening its position as an important actor in global processes. A clear indication of this is the holding of such a large-scale and significant international event as the COP29 climate conference in Baku. This is not only recognition of the country's contribution to the global agenda, but also an opportunity to demonstrate its ability to be a bridge between regions, cultures and interests," he said.
