Parliament vice-speaker: Demining territories - problem uniting Azerbaijan and Ukraine

Demining de-occupied territories is a problem that unites Azerbaijan and Ukraine, Vice Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada (Parliament) of Ukraine Olena Kondratiuk said in a post on social networks after a meeting with representatives of the Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA), Report informs.

“Demining de-occupied territories is a humanitarian problem that unites us. On behalf of Ukraine and the Verkhovna Rada, I expressed gratitude to the Republic of Azerbaijan for its significant assistance to Ukraine in the mine clearance process.

Azerbaijan is conducting mine clearance exercises. They set up their own production of sapper machines. Azerbaijan recently transferred one of them to Ukraine to clear anti-personnel mines. Now this equipment works in the Kharkiv region!

I also asked the Azerbaijani side to provide Ukraine with equipment for neutralizing anti-tank mines. Ukraine today is the most mined country in the world. And we appreciate any humanitarian assistance aimed at saving lives from this most deadly threat,” she noted.
