OTS National Security Council Chairs discuss current threats and challenges

On September 18-19, the 3rd meeting of the National Security Council (NSC) Chairs of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) members was held in Turkestan, Kazakhstan, the spiritual capital of the Turkic world, Report informs.

During the meeting, the parties focused on the current security environment and events taking place in the OTS region and worldwide. They discussed the existing security threats and challenges targeting OTS countries, as well as the potential impacts of certain regional and global events and trends on the Turkic region.

The National Security Council Chairs paid special attention to transportation security and the development of transportation and logistics infrastructure along the Middle Corridor. Ensuring the safe and efficient movement of goods and people across the Turkic world is crucial for economic growth and regional stability.

The meeting also involved an in-depth discussion on strengthening mechanisms within the OTS framework to develop existing cooperation in the field of security through specific projects and programs.
