The first deputy chairman of the Azerbaijan Mine Action Agency (ANAMA), Bahruz Mammadov, held a meeting with the delegation headed by the President of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, Pia Kauma, Report informs, citing ANAMA.
During the meeting, Mammadov informed the delegation about the directions of ANAMA’s activities, the landmine threat facing Azerbaijan, the obstacles created by landmines in the return of former IDPs to their native lands, and the progress of reconstruction work in the liberated territories, as well as the large-scale measures implemented in the direction of eliminating those threats and obstacles.
Kauman, who was interested in the work carried out in the field of humanitarian demining in the country and emphasized the special importance of this activity, expressed her gratitude for the answers to her questions, as well as for every landmine that was discovered and every human life that was saved, and wished success to the agency in its work.
