As part of the 29th Annual Conference and General Meeting of the International Association of Prosecutors (IAP), taking place in Baku from September 29 to October 2, meetings with delegations from international organizations and foreign countries continue, Report informs via the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office of Azerbaijan.
Prosecutor General of Azerbaijan Kamran Aliyev held a meeting with a delegation led by Attorney General of the Sultanate of Oman, Nasr Khamis Al Sawai. Welcoming the guests, Kamran Aliyev noted that bilateral and multilateral relations between Azerbaijan and the Sultanate of Oman are successfully developing, especially within organizations such as the Non-Aligned Movement and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.
He also emphasized the strengthening of ties in economic, energy, educational, tourism, and other spheres. Kamran Aliyev drew attention to the importance of mutual visits and added that relations between the prosecutor's offices of the two countries are successfully developing was part of the International Association of Prosecutors and other professional platforms.
The prosecutor general of Azerbaijan emphasized the historical significance of holding the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) in Baku and noted that this event will be an important stage in the global fight against climate change. Kamran Aliyev invited his Omani counterpart to the high-level plenary session to be held in Baku on November 15 as part of the cooperation between the Prosecutor General's Office of Azerbaijan and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC).
In turn, the attoney general of the Sultanate of Oman expressed gratitude for the warm reception and emphasized that Azerbaijan has repeatedly demonstrated its capabilities in organizing major international events. He expressed confidence that Oman will also actively participate in the upcoming global events to be held in Azerbaijan.
During the meeting, a useful exchange of views was held on issues of cooperation in the legal sphere, as well as in bilateral format and within international organizations. The parties agreed to prepare a Memorandum of Understanding for the further development of relations between the prosecutor's offices of the two countries.
