OIC Ombudsmen Association presents report on Azerbaijan

On May 16, Ankara hosted a presentation of a report prepared on the results of field studies conducted in Shusha, Aghdam and Tartar from September 14 to 19 last year by a delegation led by the Turkish Ombudsman, President of the Association of Ombudsmen of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Seref Malkoc, Report informs.

Azerbaijani Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudswoman) Sabina Aliyeva attended the presentation and expressed her opinion on the report.

It was emphasized that the main purpose of preparing the report is to assess the human rights violations committed by Armenia during the occupation, as well as during the 44-day Patriotic War.

She said that the delegation got acquainted with the demining process in the liberated Azerbaijani territories. It was noted that Armenia doesn’t inform about the fate of about 4,000 Azerbaijanis who went missing during the First Karabakh War, and that the mine problem remains a serious threat.
