OIC delegation carries out fact-finding mission in area hit by Armenia in Ganja

The delegation led by the Chairman of the Independent Permanent Human Rights Commission (IPHRC) of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Muhammad Lawal Suleiman, who is on a visit to Azerbaijan at the invitation of Ombudsman Sabina Aliyeva, carried out the next joint fact-finding mission in the city of Ganja, which was subjected to rocket attacks by the Armenian armed forces during the 44-day Patriotic War, Report informs.

The members of the delegation got acquainted with the facts of the shelling of residential areas in violation of the rules of international humanitarian law during the war.

The members of the delegation also met with the residents affected by the rocket attacks of the Armenian armed forces. The guests were informed about the war crimes committed by Armenia using prohibited weapons against the civilian population during the Second Karabakh War, which resulted in numerous casualties and serious destruction.

Later, the guests conducted on-site monitoring of the Imamzada religious complex, which was damaged as a result of rocket attacks by the Armenian armed forces.

The delegation visited the area that was subjected to a rocket attack by the Armenian Armed Forces during the Patriotic War. A meeting with the victims of rocket attacks is held here.
