OIC calls for more collective efforts to support victims of humanitarian crises

The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) observes World Humanitarian Day on August 19 annually to honor the bravery of humanitarian workers who make sacrifices or suffer injuries in their service, as well as those who continue to save and protect lives in challenging circumstances, the OIC said in a statement, Report informs.

“This year's commemoration highlights the pressing humanitarian challenges across the Muslim world, underscoring the need for intensified and coordinated efforts to address diverse impacts and dimensions of crises,” reads the statement.

The General Secretariat expressed gratitude to member states, donors, and partners for their constant and substantial contributions in mitigating the adverse effects of crises on affected members and communities hosting refugees.
