In January-September 2023, 1,367 Azerbaijani citizens voluntarily returned to their homeland, Report informs referring to the Azerbaijani representative office of the International Organization for Migration (IOM).
Of these, 1,149 people returned from Moldova, 170 from Germany, 24 from the Netherlands, 11 from Austria, one person each from Latvia, Georgia, Belarus, Hungary, Poland, Türkiye and Romania.
In addition, during this period, 293 returning citizens were provided with monetary and non-financial assistance in order to facilitate the reintegration process.
According to IOM, over the past five years (2018-2023), 4,794 citizens voluntarily returned to Azerbaijan, of which 3,135 received support under IOM projects.
