New Ukrainian ambassador presents copy of his credentials to Azerbaijani MFA

The newly appointed Ambassador of Ukraine to Azerbaijan, Yuriy Gusev, presented copies of his credentials to the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, Samir Sharifov, Report informs.

“I met with Samir Sharifov, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, to present copies of credentials related to the start of my diplomatic activity as Ukrainian Ambassador to Azerbaijan,” he wrote on Facebook.

Gusev added that during the meeting, the Deputy Minister confirmed Azerbaijan's unchanging position on supporting Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as the readiness to further develop existing bilateral cooperation between the two states and provide humanitarian assistance to Ukraine in energy, social, and other areas.

“In my turn, I expressed my gratitude to the Azerbaijani side for its support to Ukraine and emphasized that I am ready to make maximum effort to strengthen the strategic partnership between Ukraine and Azerbaijan. Afterwards, we discussed in detail bilateral and multilateral cooperation, as well as many issues on the global and regional security agenda,” the ambassador said.
