NATO member-states express support for Azerbaijan's territorial integrity

The NATO North Atlantic Council session took place in the Belgian capital on December 14.

Report informs that President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev attended the event.

The NATO member-states have again voiced support for the territorial integrity, sovereignty, inviolability of the internationally recognized borders of Azerbaijan. It was noted that this position was repeatedly fixed in the documents of the NATO member-states. The NATO member-states especially stressed the role of Azerbaijan in the mission of Resolute Support. The NATO official reps especially stressed the role of the Azerbaijani military in the evacuation of more than 120,000 civilians via the Kabul airport. It was noted that Azerbaijan took part in these operations since 2002 and became one of the last countries to leave Afghanistan.

The sides also spoke about the expansion of the issue of operative military adaptation between the armed forces of Azerbaijan and NATO.

As part of the event, an exchange of views on mutual interest was held, and answers were given to the questions of the representatives of member-states.
