MP: US, France - main opponents of resolving conflict in South Caucasus

The premature withdrawal of Russian peacekeepers from Karabakh is also an indicator of the high level of mutual understanding between the leaders of Azerbaijan and Russia, Azerbaijani MP Jeyhun Mammadov said at today’s plenary session of parliament, Report informs.

He noted that relations between the two countries were already at a high level, and after the withdrawal of peacekeepers, friendly relations between Azerbaijan and Russia will become even stronger.

Mammadov added that the US reaction to the withdrawal of Russian peacekeepers from Karabakh is seriously regrettable: “The State Department representative, in his commentary on this issue, criticized the withdrawal of the peacekeepers and stated that Russia is an ‘unreliable ally.’ Such statements once again demonstrate the hypocrisy of America. It is obvious that the US and France are the main opponents of resolving the conflict in the region.”
