MP: France trying to achieve its goals through Armenia by fulfilling Armenian lobby's will

France, long influenced by its Armenian diaspora and lobby, is attempting to realize its ambitions in the region through Armenia, according to Azerbaijani MP Jala Aliyeva.

According to Report, speaking at a plenary session of the Milli Majlis, Aliyeva condemned a recent documentary aired on French channel ARTE, which made absurd and slanderous claims against Azerbaijan and Türkiye.

The MP expressed support for the Western Azerbaijan Community's statement denouncing the film. "The airing of a film filled with slander against Azerbaijanis and Turks on a French channel highlights this country's biased politics and intolerance towards Azerbaijan, Türkiye and the entire Turkic world," Aliyeva noted.

She reminded that Azerbaijan liberated its lands from a 30-year occupation in just 44 days and is now actively restoring the freed territories. "Azerbaijan's development worries certain powers. For 30 years, they hindered the conflict's resolution, fearing our progress. Now, after our victory, these forces continue their attempts to discredit Azerbaijan," the parliamentarian said.

Aliyeva also emphasized that the film targets not only Azerbaijan but also its closest ally, Türkiye. "Such bias reflects the West's envy of Azerbaijan and Turkey's successes," she added.
