Minister: Development of Zangazur Corridor of particular importance for Kazakhstan

The development of the Zangazur Corridor is of particular importance for Kazakhstan, Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Trade and Integration of Kazakhstan Serik Zhumangarin told journalists, Report informs.

He noted that the meeting of the intergovernmental commission Azerbaijan-Kazakhstan on April 7 in Baku was held ahead of the Azerbaijani president’s visit to Kazakhstan: “The results with which the parties approached this visit are very pleasing.”

The minister noted that Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan have already overcome the consequences of the pandemic in the issue of trade cooperation.

“Today, cooperation along the Middle Corridor is developing successfully. Work is underway to expand the Alat port. The Zangazur Corridor, which is very important for Kazakhstan, is being developed,” Serik Zhumangarin said, noting that this corridor will intensify work along the TITR route (Trans-Caspian International Transport Route).

The minister also noted that Kazakhstan is interested in the supply of Azerbaijani agricultural and fruit and vegetable products to the country.
