Azerbaijan is ready to provide humanitarian support to Somalia, Azerbaijan's Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov said at a joint press conference with Somali Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Ahmed Moallim Fiqi, Report informs.
Bayramov also drew attention to the economic cooperation: "Agriculture and fishery play a key role in the cooperation between the two countries. In April 2024, a technical expert group from Somalia visited Azerbaijan. There are plans to send such a group from Azerbaijan to Somalia in the near future."
"Azerbaijan is ready to provide humanitarian support to Somalia. Azerbaijan has an educational program for OIC countries, and a number of young people from Somalia have already benefited from it, and this will continue in the future,” the minister added.
He also pointed out that a number of large events are planned in Azerbaijan this year, and the biggest of them is COP29.
“Azerbaijan will be happy to host a delegation from Somalia at a high level at this conference," the minister noted.
