MFA: US congressmen's unilateral resolutions harm peace talks

The delegation led by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, Elnur Mammadov, is on a business trip to the United States, Report informs, citing the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The delegation met with members of the US Senate, Senator Tom Cotton, Senator Ben Cardin, members of the House of Representatives, Jack Bergman, Chuck Fleischmann, Mike Ezel, and Robert Aderholt.

During the meetings, the other side was informed about the processes in the region, as well as peace negotiations with Armenia.

The Members of Congress were also briefed on ongoing post-conflict mine threats, recovery and reconstruction efforts.

In the meetings, it was emphasized that the untrue and unfounded information presented to the members of Congress by the radical Armenian organizations operating in the United States regarding the establishment of the Lachin border crossing point, as well as the putting forward of unilateral resolutions by the members of the United States Congress that do not serve the national interests of the United States, harmed the relations between the two countries as well as the ongoing peace negotiations.

During the meetings, opinions were exchanged on other issues of mutual interest.
