MFA: ‘Armenian side should understand that the way to ensure peace in the region is to establish direct constructive negotiations with Azerbaijan’

The Armenian side should understand that the way to ensure peace and stability in the region is not to raise the issue in the UN Security Council with baseless claims, but to establish relations with neighboring countries based on the confirmation and respect of territorial integrity and sovereignty, and direct constructive negotiations with Azerbaijan to establish peace, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan said in a commentary on the allegations made by Nikol Pashinyan, Prime Minister of Armenia, during his speech at the government meeting, Report informs.

“Armenia’s resistance to the reintegration policy of Azerbaijan with regard to the Armenian residents living in the Karabakh region of Azerbaijan, the Prime Minister's allegations that Azerbaijan opened a fire against Armenian residents and accusing our country of “ethnic cleansing” indicates to the fact that Armenian leadership still does not correctly assess the realities in the region,” the MFA said.
