Mexican political scientist: With Armenian separatist groups, it is not possible to advance to a peace agreement for stability in Caucasus

It is impossible to reach a peace agreement with the Armenian separatist groups, Mauricio Tafoya, a Mexican political scientist, president of the Diplomatic Youth Organization, told Report.

According to him, the aim of the Armenian separatists is to disrupt the negotiations between Azerbaijan and Armenia and prevent the signing of a peace agreement: "They have never been interested in reaching a peace agreement with Azerbaijan. Armenian separatists are always looking for a way to make no progress in the negotiations, and that is why they are seeking provication like the one at the Lachin border crossing point. With this, they want to block the passage of food aid and emergency services to the area. This clearly shows that they violated international border laws. Azerbaijan has every right to set up a post on the Lachin road to prevent their illegal activities since Garabagh is the sovereign territory of Azerbaijan."

The expert said that the construction of the border checkpoint is the best way to control what is happening in the territory of Azerbaijan for the complete safety of the residents of Karabakh: "Azerbaijan's steps are completely legal and the post established on its territory serves to protect the safety of Azerbaijanis, as well as Armenians living within the state borders. Everyone knows that separatist Armenian groups have repeatedly tried to transfer military weapons and even military personnel to the sovereign territory of Azerbaijan. What these Armenian separatist groups are also looking for is to carry a series of lies and buy people, the media. They believe that the real enemy is Azerbaijan and it violates international law with the border post in Lachin. But today we know that the one who violates international law is Armenia with its provocations in Garabagh, which is legitimate territory of Azerbaijan, and it is possible that Armenia wants to bring this before the United Nations Security Council but carrying a version of lies and without foundations about what it is happening in Lachin.

"Today the one with the greatest interest in advancing with a peace agreement is Azerbaijan with Armenia, but with these Armenian separatist groups it is not possible to advance to a peace agreement for greater stability in the Caucasus region."
