Mexican envoy: Azerbaijan, Pacific Alliance countries develop co-op

Azerbaijan and the countries of the Pacific Alliance are successfully cooperating despite the distance separating them, Ambassador of Mexico to Azerbaijan Rodrigo Labardini said during the round table “Pacific Ocean: Pacific Alliance playing the role of a link between Azerbaijan and Latin America” ​​at the Center for Analysis of International Relations, Report informs.

He noted that the Pacific Alliance is built on the principles of integration and mutually beneficial cooperation and the organization is interested in developing cooperation with Azerbaijan: “The country has a very great potential. Azerbaijan accounts for 75% of the total GDP of the South Caucasus. It is also the gateway to the Caspian region, which opens great opportunities especially in trade, investment and tourism.”

The ambassador noted that the Azerbaijani embassy was opened in Mexico in 2007 and this was the beginning of the growth of trade with the countries of the Pacific Alliance.

The Pacific Alliance is a trading bloc that includes four Latin American countries: Mexico, Peru, Chile, Colombia. Azerbaijan is an observer in the Alliance. The Pacific Alliance office opened in Baku in December last year.
